Epping residents will have seen temporary fencing being erected at The Langston, to safely cordon off the site for early ground works, ahead of demolition of the building and eventual excavation, as the footprint of the project begins to take shape.

According to Jack Peschhardt, Team Leader at Hutchinson Builders, the Epping community can expect to see a significant change at The Langston over the next three to four months.

“Site works have commenced rapidly since the start of 2019, with our team making preparations for the demolition of the existing Westpac building and car park, in the lead-up to construction commencement,” said Mr Peschhardt.

“This site clearing and demolition work is expected to take 12 weeks, meaning we should be on track to start construction by April, ahead of an overall construction duration of approximately three years.”

Upon completion, The Langston will be one of Epping’s largest urban renewal projects and will see the delivery of 463 new apartments to the future Epping Town Centre.

In addition, The Langston will provide a ground floor retail/mixed-use precinct comprising 1,681sqm of retail space, as well as open public space and shareways connecting Epping Train Station to Chambers Court and Epping Public Library.
