The demolition phase at The Langston was completed in early May, with the final remnants of the former Westpac offices and the protective scaffolding surrounding the building being removed from site (see photo above). This has allowed the team from Hutchinson Builders to concentrate on the in-ground works and basement construction.
The first piling rig has now also arrived on site to commence the drilling of The Langston’s basement retention walls and foundations. Our first piles were drilled in early May, as closely watched by our very pleased Site Manager John (see photo carousel below).
The upcoming activities on site include the basement excavation to form the four-level deep car park, the first basement slabs, lift cores and the erection of the two tower cranes which will overlook the project for the next 18 months.
With completion currently targeted for Q3 2021, The Langston is now well on the way to becoming the centrepiece of the future Epping Town Centre.
